Privacy Policy

At Stormuring (stormuring.org), your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have. If you have questions, contact us at nymblsoft9@gmail.com.

Information We Collect

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it (see Automattic’s privacy policy). Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible publicly alongside it.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep the site working smoothly:

  • Comment cookies: If you leave a comment, you can opt in to saving your name, email and website so you don’t retype them next time. These last one year.
  • Login cookies: Temporary cookies check browser compatibility; login cookies store your session (two days, or two weeks with “Remember Me”); screen-preference cookies last a year. Logging out removes them.
  • Analytics cookies: We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which guides are helpful. This data is aggregated and never sold.

Media

If you upload images to the site, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS) — visitors can download and extract it.

Embedded Content

Some articles may include embedded content (videos, images). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly — those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction, especially if you’re logged in there.

Affiliate Links

Some outgoing links are affiliate links to Australian retailers. Clicking them may set a cookie from the retailer’s affiliate network so the sale can be attributed to us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Who We Share Data With

We don’t sell your personal data. Data may be shared only where necessary to run the site: with our hosting provider, with spam-detection services that screen comments, and where required by law. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

How Long We Keep Data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Registered users’ profile information is stored until they edit or delete it (usernames can’t be changed). Site administrators can view and edit this information.

Your Rights

If you’ve left comments or hold an account here, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it — except data we’re obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes. Email nymblsoft9@gmail.com with any request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. The latest version will always be posted on this page.
